Getting to Málaga airport

Many European airlines fly to Málaga, including a variety of budget airlines like RyanAir, Vueling, EasyJet, Transavia, among many others. If you are Dutch, you can often find cheap flights from Amsterdam, Eindhoven or from Brussels, Belgium.

You can compare flight fares and search for different dates through Google Flights or Skyscanner.com.

Please allow yourself sufficient time to travel to the retreat location. The arrival times on the arrival day are between 14:00 and 20:00.

The bus from Malaga on normal days leaves on 14:00 and 17:00. Note that you need to take a short bus/train ride to Malaga center from the airport. See the bus tab for more information on travelling with the bus.

Málaga has a very charming old city center, worth to stay for one or two days, in case your flight schedule allows you to.

Travelling by bus

Taking the bus is the most affordable option. It is also very easy. 🙂

Departing from Malaga

Buses from Málaga to El Burgo depart from the central bus station Maria Zambrano (in Malaga city). See google maps down below. 🙂

Transfer airport – bus station

There are frequent buses and trains running between the airport and the bus station. It only takes about 10-15 minutes, but keep in mind waiting and transfer times. You can find the transfer buses and trains right outside of the arrival hall.

El Burgo Bus Station

In El Burgo it is hard to miss the one and only bus stop, located next to the round about and opposite to the gas station. Ask the bus driver to drop you there (notify you when there), or try to localize the other participants likely to be on the same bus with you :).

We really like staying in Malaga for a couple of days. If you are looking for a nice places to eat, we have had good experiences with Brunchit. For staying the night we really like the quiet and cozy Villa Alicia (around 45 euros per night). Although this is by no means all that Malaga has to offer!

Other places we can recommend for an extended trip are Grazalema for its beautiful mountains and nature. City wise we really love: Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba.
